MEASUREMENT CHARTS

These charts can be used as a helpful aid in understanding the size, shape, and anatomy of an animal. Even within the same species, individuals can vary, so taking accurate measurements will help you sculpt an accurate taxidermy form. Please keep in mind that dead animals are likely to shrink, warp, or become distended or distorted as time passes, so use these in addition to characteristics learned from live observation. These charts are not charts I have made, but ones available for free download on various supplier sites (credits and links noted). I’ve found them very helpful and compiled them here for ease.
