Two Headed Duckling

This duckling was born with two heads and somewhat disfigured anatomy, and passed away immaturely. Aside from the malformed anatomy, the other challenges presented in this mount were the irregular feather patterns and needing to keep the carcass intact for proving this is not a gaff (two headed chicks and ducklings are commonly made gaffs in the taxidermy and oddities world, and the curious art of fabricating conjoined creatures is documented to at least the 1500’s!). This beautifully bizarre creature was mounted for a client who collects anatomic anomalies for traveling educational exhibits. Creatures like this may be disturbing to some viewers, however, they live on through the art of taxidermy to help educate the public about congenital anomalies.
